ONE OF THE really nice things about this area of France is the number of olive trees that can be found throughout the region. We are lucky to have 10 or 11 in our garden and each year the owner of our house (we're renters!) has the trees harvested and pressed into olive oil at a local mill. Yesterday afternoon a large bottle of olive oil was delivered to our house -- made from the very olives that were growing on our trees 4 months ago. The bottle came courtesy of the home owner.We're very grateful. And, as you might have guessed, the oil is wonderful.

how lovely! When we were in Lourmarin we stayed in a gite that was on land with olives and they made their own oil too and we left with a bottle....so so good.
